Happy New Year Everyone!  I enjoyed with my family, relatives and friends a traditional Japanese New’s Day Feast or “Oshogatsu.”  We had sushi, sashimi, sekihan (red beans), teriyaki chicken, lobster, panko chicken (Japanese fried chicken), oden and several other traditional dishes, and non traditional foods like tamales and Korean beef.  It is a wonderful traditional that the new second generation is trying to maintain so that our family can stay in contact with eachother.

I hope everyone enjoys a 2010 filled with good health and happiness!!!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

The winter weather is here and this was a great year for good food and family.  Our holiday meal included for breakfast a delicious baked french toast  and ziploc omelets (that were fun and easy).  We enjoyed an Italian dinner of baked manicotti, lasagna and chicken cacciotore.  The desserts included pumpkin crunch squares, red velvet cupcakes, poppy seed cakes and shortbread brownies.

Hope everyone enjoys a new year of good health and happiness!
